Many of you may have been wondering how you could do something to show your
support for our troops. As you may know, the military has requested that mail
and packages sent to the troops be from family and friends of the military
member. So, what can the rest of us do to show our support?
Through the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a program, "Operation
Uplink", has been set up to provide active duty military members and
hospitalized veterans with calling cards to call home, but they need your
support to help pay for these cards. Through Operation Uplink calling time can
be purchased in any amount. Currently, less than 3 percent of your donation
will go toward production and distribution costs with the bulk going toward
the purchase of phone minutes for military personnel and veterans—and your
donation is tax deductible.
If you would like to make a donation you may link to "Operation Uplink" at
www.operationuplink.org.
The donation form asks for "Donation in Someone’s Name". If you would like,
you may type in Denver Federal Executive Board, to show support from
the federal family in the Denver/Boulder metropolitan area. Remember, this is
a strictly voluntary opportunity.
